Nowruz, the Persian New Year, paints the world in hues of joy, and marks the birth of spring, as life renews itself again. As the days stretch longer and warmth seeps in, Iranians from around the world gather to celebrate this ancient, beloved tradition.
The sights, sounds, and scents of Nowruz take our breath away. Homes cleaned from top to bottom, and new clothes donned for the holiday’s dawn. Around tables called haft sin, families gather to partake in the renewal of spring, with symbols of life and rebirth decorating the scene.
Delicacies such as sabzi polo mahi and ash-reshteh, and sweets, nuts, and fruits are shared with friends and neighbours, as traditional merriment fills the air.

Prior to the Nowruz, “Chaharshanbe-Suri,” the Fire Festival, ignites a spark in our hearts as we jump over bonfires to signify the burning away of old troubles, heralding the advent of new life and energy for the year to come.
As we celebrate this season of rebirth, let us take a moment to remember the brave women and youth in Iran, who face incredible hardships as they struggle for a better future. Their fortitude, resilience, and courage, in the face of oppression, leave us in awe, and we pray that God will be with them every step of the way as they strive for a free, democratic Iran.
We pledge to be their voice in the free world, and offer them support in their quest for justice and a better tomorrow. May they find the strength to overcome the hurdles they face, the wisdom to navigate complex political landscapes, and the support and solidarity of fellow Iranians and the global community.
As we wish them a Happy Nowruz, let us also pray for God’s blessings to be upon them. May their voices be heard loud and clear, and their dreams of a just and equitable society, come to fruition.
Happy Nowruz
God Bless you
